November 2, 2018

It’s November 2.

I should have had my monthly overview up for y’all (and me), my expected budget (bills already due and being paid), and everything so we can start November off right!

Yea, well. It’s a process.

It’s in my head, and I plan to get it posted here in the next couple of days. Judgment free zone, remember?

In the meantime, I’ll share some baby steps I’ve taken in the meantime:

  • cancelled my SiriusXM subscription – I paid $60 for a year’s worth of service last year, and it was set to auto-renew on January 1. I don’t use it enough to justify the cost and it was getting a bit repetitive for my tastes, so my Lyft passengers will just have to deal with the radio. My Uber passengers and I will at least have Pandora to use (Uber driver tip: Pandora is free while your app is on).
  • switched my alarm monitoring billing from a credit card to a debit card – Even though I was making additional payments to cover the amount charged, why even have the interest calculate and add to my balance?
  • canceled my LA Fitness membership – I signed up primarily for the classes and the pool, but wasn’t using either. Can still go this entire month if the spirit so moves me.
  • am going to cancel 2 lines on my phone plan – We are not even going to get into the particulars of my phone bill.  giphy

All of this will save me $30 a month initially, then approximately $70.

What baby steps can you make for November?
