Get happy

One of my resolutions (not New Years, just doing things different) was to force myself to use things up before I replaced them or stopped using them just because something newer came along.

(This could have been sparked by my having to pack boxes of Bath & Body Works products when I moved at the end of last year. I didn’t even realize my bathroom cabinet was holding so many lotions, sprays, and shower gels. In the interest of full disclosure: I did know about the hand soaps.)

No matter the reason, I decided I was going to do better. With Bath & Body Works, pens, stationery, snacks, toothpaste, NOT toilet tissue…you get the idea. It’s been trucking along mostly successfully (no thanks to Me & My Big Ideas and their Happy Planner line), until one day I went to use the lotion I keep at work and it sputtered. Sputtered!

Bath & Body Works’      Get happy

I didn’t realize how much I loved this White Peach Sangria until that sound. Now I’ve got three, maybe four more uses (and this is cap off, twisting to the side, and squeezing like I’m trying to get into my cute jeans) before I just won’t be able to fake the funk any longer and will have to toss it.

Why do I love thee? Let me count the ways:

  • Its scent is strong, but not overwhelmingly so. I can use this all day without feeling the need to wash it off.
  • It actually smells like peaches, not faint remnants of something you can’t quite put your finger on.
  • When applied properly, it leaves my hands moisturized until I wash it off. I don’t have to reapply in order to reap the benefits.

So naturally, it’s a discontinued scent. Notice I didn’t say “retired” – Bath and Body Works brings out their retired scents pretty regularly; they probably should call them Old Faithfuls or Pretty Popular or something similar. Discontinued (which means I’ll look for it in the semi-annual sale in July) 😀

Until then, my scissors are on standby, ready to cut the container open and get that last swipe of peach goodness out.
